Solid Silver Fish Scoop, Pierced, Early 19th Century

A solid silver fish serving scoop, decorated with a frieze and openwork on one side, the reverse plain. Its turned wooden handle (some losses) is set into a plain hood with a molded border. Central monogram with the initials M and O. Maker's marks A & M (the indefinable symbols) on the handle and the scoop (2). First standard rooster hallmark and guarantee for Paris 1809-1819. Very elegant and large, it is in excellent condition. Length: 36 cm / 14.17 in. Gross weight: 148 g.
