Boyer-Calot and Puiforcat - Two-Piece Pierced Solid Silver Dessert Serving Set: Fruit server and sugar spoon in pierced and engraved solid silver. The spoons are finely pierced, highlighting an elegant monogram with the initials M & K. On each of the two pieces, this monogram is richly foliate and delicately re-engraved. The four-sided spatulas are chased with pearls and striations. Both pieces are stamped with the Minerva 1st standard (950) hallmark. The spoon is stamped with the EP hallmark, a penknife, for the master silversmith Emile Puiforcat, active at 18 rue Chapon in Paris since 1857. Length: 20.8 cm / 8.19 in. The fruit server is stamped with the hallmark of the master silversmith François-Auguste Boyer-Callot, admitted to the Paris guild on September 13th. 1865 and active at 30 rue Sainte-Croix-de-la-Bretonnerie. Also bears the swan hallmark. Length: 21.5 cm / 8.46 in. Total weight of the two pieces (2 pcs.): 144 g. Very fine and rare openwork, then re-engraved. Uncommon pieces of very high quality.
