Monstrance-Reliquary of Saint Augustine, Austria or Central Europe, late 18th – 19th century. Repoussé, gilt, and silvered copper. The monstrance features a radiating decoration of alternating gilt and silver rays, the shaped base adorned with rocaille motifs in relief. At the center is a circular reliquary capsule on a red silk background containing fragments attributed to Saint Augustine, with a handwritten inscription “Saint Augustine.” The monstrance retains its original printed and handwritten episcopal charter from the Archdiocese of Cambrai (Stephanus-Maria-Alphonsus Sonnois, Archbishop), concealed within the base under a removable cover.
