Elegant half-length portrait of a young woman wearing a low-cut lace dress adorned with a necklace and pendant. The face and costume details are rendered with exquisite finesse, typical of the Romantic taste of the 1840s. Presented in a richly ornamented brass or gilt bronze frame decorated with foliate motifs and a stylized shell. Provenance: private collection. Condition: minor soiling and browning to the paper.
