The famous Virgin and Child in Majesty ("The Madonna of Mariazell in Austria") in Neo-Roman style, in carved and polychromed wood, surmounted by gilded copper crowns decorated with glass cabochons. Red wax seal on the reverse. A fine example of Austrian folk art from the end of the 18th century. As is (small paint losses).
