Silver Ciborium, Repoussé With Medallion Decoration And Instruments Of The Passion, Late 17th Century
Silver and vermeil ciborium inside the sacred space. The domed lid is decorated with medallion motifs alternating with the instruments of the Passion: tunic, dice, whips, column, and ladder. The body rests on a hexagonal shaft with central knots and a six-lobed foot. Eastern Europe, 17th century. Dated after 1745, probably at the time of its donation or during its hallmarking. Hallmarks: O and a cross, unidentified. Weight: 390 g. Good condition.
