Reliquary Capsule (theca) Of Saint Stanislaus Kostka With Authentic, Rome, 1884
Oval reliquary capsule (Theca) in silver-plated copper, approx. 5.5 × 4.3 cm, containing a relic of Saint Stanislas Kostka ("Ex aria sepul. S. Stanislai Kostkae."), presented under glass. The relic is set in a decorative montage of gold metallic threads and sequins on a red velvet background. The reverse retains its original ecclesiastical seal with its closing links.
.Accompanied by its original authentic ecclesiastical seal in Latin, issued in Rome in 1884 under the authority of Cardinal-Vicar Costantino Patrizi Naro. Document with printed coat of arms, handwritten inscriptions, signatures and embossed seal.
St. Stanislaus Kostka (1550-1568) ranks among the most important figures of the Society of Jesus. Shortly after his untimely death, his veneration spread widely, particularly in Poland and the countries of Central Europe. His relics were preserved and honored in both religious institutions and private devotional spaces in the 19th century.
