Probably 19th century, in the Rococo style.
Rectangular gilt-silver box with a hinged lid, decorated in relief with rocaille motifs, shells, and flowers on a stamped background. In the center, a figurative scene depicts a child sitting on a swing, accompanied by a standing figure.
The interior of the lid features an oval miniature painted in polychrome on porcelain, depicting a young woman in a blue dress with a white collar, her hair adorned with black ribbons. A gilded frame, richly decorated with rocaille motifs and foliage, surrounds the portrait.
Indistinct hallmarks on the rim, one of which appears to include the letter “L.” Gilding is partially worn, and there are signs of use.
