Silvered metal, oval shaped reliquary capsule (Theca), approx. 3 × 2.3 cm, containing a relic of St. Ignatius of Loyola ("S. Ignatii Loyola Confessoris"), under glass. Accompanied by its original ecclesiastical authentic in Latin, issued in Rome on December 18, 1878 by Bishop Franciscus Marinelli. Document with embossed seal and handwritten signature.
St. Ignatius of Loyola (1491-1556), founder of the Society of Jesus, was among the major figures of the 16th-century Catholic Reformation. His relics were particularly venerated in the 19th century, both in religious institutions and in private devotional spaces.
