PRUSSIAN OFFICER'S SABER, First Empire. 32706. Steel hilt. Single-branch guard. Long-tailed pommel. Wooden grip covered in black calfskin with copper wire wrapping. Curved, fullered blade, engraved and gilded on the front third of its face "Rücherinnerung in die zu Limburg seit dem 15 Septb. bis 6 Octobr. 1813 Verlebten Tage" (Recollections of the days spent in Limburg from September 15 to October 6, 1813), with floral decoration on a blued ground, and on the back engraved and gilded "Heinrich Huÿssen in Essen" with floral decoration and a military trophy on a blued ground. Blade length 78.5 cm. Wooden scabbard covered in black varnished calfskin with three steel mounts decorated with lines and leaf-shaped edges, steel suspension rings. Scabbard tip with lyre-shaped dart. Prussia. First Empire (1813). Very good condition, some oxidation on the blade, scabbard leather folded in the center but without damage.
