Elegant ring in yellow and white gold adorned with a Roman carnelian intaglio depicting Fortuna (Tyche), goddess of fortune and destiny. The 2nd-century ancient intaglio is beautifully enhanced by a surround of old-cut diamonds, set in a refined early 20th-century mounting.
The intaglio depicts Tyche Fortuna, Roman goddess of fortune, chance, and prosperity. She is typically represented holding a cornucopia, ear of corn and a rudder, symbols of abundance and control over fate.
Excellent state of preservation. Mounting in perfect condition, authentic Roman intaglio displaying natural wear patterns characteristic of its age.
