Antique Gold and Garnet Ring – Late Roman/Early Byzantine Period – 3rd-5th Century AD. This high-purity solid gold ring features a smooth, round band, characteristic of classic Roman jewelry. Its raised bezel, with radiating ribs and a granulated beaded border, holds a splendid round cabochon of deep purple-red almandine garnet, typical of gemstones prized in Roman and Byzantine times. Diameter: 19 mm (approximately size 50-51). Weight: 2.9 g. Period: 3rd-5th century AD. Formerly in a German private collection (before 2000), then in a London private collection, acquired in Belgium. Sold with its certificate of authenticity. Verified and registered with the Art Loss Register (confirmation letter included).
