A substantial Roman finger ring of hollow construction, the broad rounded hoop tapering elegantly toward an oval bezel set with an agate intaglio. The stone depicts the bust of Athena, goddess of wisdom and war, in left-facing profile. She wears a crested helmet and a suit of armour adorned with a snake — a distinctive iconographic detail evoking the aegis and her role as divine protector.
Wear marks consistent with ancient use.
Excellent state of conservation.
