An elegant antique 18-karat yellow gold (750‰) ring, fully hallmarked, set with a finely carved rectangular cameo in two-tone agate (warm orange background, milky white relief). The cameo depicts a bearded male profile in the antique style, rendered in a neoclassical style inspired by Greco-Roman art, evoking a mythological or heroic figure from Olympus, reflecting the classical aesthetic very much in vogue in the 19th century. The stone is enhanced by a setting with rounded prongs, characteristic of the refined mounts of this period.
