Compass With A Man's Head, Wrought Iron, France, Early 18th Century
Small wrought iron compass, known as a "man's head" compass, dating from early 18th-century France. It is of fine quality, attractive due to the brilliance of the metal. Its charming size is almost comparable to that of a paperback book. It is in found condition; I leave it to the future owner to decide whether or not to preserve its signs of wear.
