English Bulldog, Made Of A Single Piece Of Wood, 20th-century Animal Sculpture
One-of-a-kind piece: a nearly life-size English bulldog, carved from a single block of wood (monoxyl). French work (?) from the second half of the 20th century. Surprisingly unsigned, given the quality of this piece (posture, details on the muzzle, etc.). Condition is nearly perfect: note a barely noticeable micro-chip near the left ear; one of the claws on the left front paw was restored using a different type of wood after it broke.
Requires no doghouse, no dog food, and no trips to the vet!
