Polychrome panel carved in bas-relief, decorated with a bouquet in an urn. France, late 18th century. In perfect condition, very attractive size.
Against a mauve background, this bouquet bursts forth from a gadrooned urn. This nearly symmetrical design consists of 5 flowers (3 white, 2 blue) and foliage. Traces of green polychrome can be seen here and there. The central flower, which towers over the composition, has retained its original color best: its blue is still vivid and intense. The overall patina is simply exquisite!
A two-part panel in very good condition, with a very attractive wood patina on the reverse.
