Loetz Or Kralik Dlg: Iridescent Art Nouveau Glassware, Bohemia, Ca. 1900
In the style of Loetz or Kralik, a small and charming Art Nouveau-style glass piece made of iridescent glass typical of productions from that era. Unsigned, as is often the case, but almost certainly attributable to the Bohemian region of Central Europe, circa 1900. In very good condition, though a slight chip on the neck is worth noting.
Set on a base of iridescent blown glass, with metallic sheen and shifting shades of green, purple, and blue. The shape of this piece can be described as a “spinning top,” with its wide, flattened lower section and elongated neck. Decorated with hot-applied glass filaments featuring free-flowing, organic lines reminiscent of the typical naturalistic forms of Art Nouveau.
