Art Nouveau: Pair Of Pastels, Portraits Of Elegant Women, By Paolo Henri

Art Nouveau: Pair of pastels on canvas depicting two elegant women. Signed in the upper right corner “PAOLO HENRI.” Under glass (removed for the photos), in gilded wooden frames dating from around 1900. Both are the same size.

The first lady in this pair is depicted in a three-quarter rear view against a sky-blue background. In addition to her lovely Venetian blonde hair, she wears a dress that appears to float over her shoulders. Her complexion complements the color of her dress beautifully. In very good condition; note: there is a tear in the paper (not on the canvas; see photo).
The second portrait, meanwhile, depicts her in a three-quarter front view, also against a sky-blue background. The way she holds her head is worthy of her name, “Elegant.” A beautiful ribbon enhances her brown hair. Her complexion, lighter than her friend’s, also complements the color of her dress beautifully. In very good condition; please note: there is a tear in the paper (not on the canvas).
