Beautiful Bronze Apothecary's Mortar And Pestle, Cast Iron From Le Puy, Columns, Late 17th Century

Beautiful bronze mortar, heavy and powerful in the hand. It is sold with its original pestle, the ring of which rests perfectly on the inner rim. The mortar is decorated with stylized columns, with a flat base and a slightly flared rim, cylindrical.
Good overall condition, however, with a 2 cracks, not penetrating through, probably a casting flaw.
French working, probably cast in Le Puy-en-Velay, dating from the late 17th or very early 18th century, circa 1700.
Dimensions: 8.5cm H x 12cm Top diameter. Base diameter 7.8cm.
Pestle: 19.5cm x 3cm.
