Clock Gilded Bronze Louis XV Style Watchmaker Vincent 1855
Elegant Napoleon III period cartel clock circa 1860, stamped on the
mechanism plate "Médaille d'argent Vincent 1855." The clockmaker
is listed in the Tardy dictionary of French watchmakers.
Made of gilt bronze, the thick, eventful structure is adorned at each corner with a long leaf. The sides and front face feature large openings enclosing a chiseled geometric grid. The large, domed white enamel dial features finely crafted hands, protected by domed glass.
Original, unmodified mechanism. The chime strikes the hour and half past the hour on an antique bell.
