"horse" Table Clock, Louis XV Period, Chiseled And Gilded Bronze, With Patina
This Rocaille clock, with its supple and lively design, is characteristic of the naturalistic and whimsical style of the reign of Louis XV. The gilded bronze base forms a dynamic foliage motif. The patinated bronze horse strikes a noble and dynamic pose. Around the clock face, flowers and foliage enliven the composition. The circular white enamel dial displays the hours in Roman numerals and the minutes in Arabic numerals.
The movement is signed on the plate: I.Iolly, Paris. The reverse features a plaque engraved with ornamental motifs.
