The animal, depictedwith one paw raised, is characterized by its supple, lively modelingcharacteristic of the naturalist taste of the reign of Louis XV.
The circular white enamel dial, with Roman numerals for the hoursand Arabic numerals for the minutes. It isin a gilded bronze frame with asymmetrical foliage and scrollsasymmetrical scrolls, typical of the rocaille repertoire.The finely-worked base features a moving decor of foliageof scrolls, shells and foliage, treated with real freedom of designand high quality chasing. The ensemble fully illustrates the aestheticsof the mid-18th century, combining ornamental fantasy and observation of nature.of nature.
The movement is a gilded brass cock-type mechanismtypical of Louis XV clockmaking. It features anand engraved cockerel, as well as a circular regulator with finely-executedindex. The plate is adorned with engraved motifs, testifying to meticulouscraftsmanship.
