"Louis XVI Period Clock – Late 18th Century"

Very beautiful model of a Louis XVI period clock, in white marble and finely chiseled gilt bronze. The round enameled dial with Roman numerals is framed by a rich neoclassical ornamentation, surmounted by a vase with flowered handles and flanked by fluted columns decorated with garlands and foliage motifs. The base, also in white marble, is highlighted by a frieze of pearls and gilt bronze egg motifs. The whole rests on four spinning feet. A piece of great elegance, characteristic of the refinement of Louis XVI taste, despite the absence of the pendulum. Width: 35 cm - Height: 51 cm
