Large Louis XV Style Clock – Late 19th Century – Ardavani Paris

An important Louis XV style mantel clock, richly decorated in the Rococo style, bearing the signature "Ardavani Paris" on its dial. The case, made of gilt bronze and metal, features a particularly dynamic composition of scrolls, foliage, shells, and interlacing patterns characteristic of the Rococo repertoire.

The circular white enamel dial, with Roman numerals for the hours and a peripheral railway track, is animated by two finely crafted hands and bears the signature "Ardavani Paris."

The reverse side reveals the mechanical pendulum movement with a striking bell, accessible through a circular openwork door.

The Ardavani firm, established in Paris at 27 Boulevard des Italiens, is documented at the end of the 19th century among the Parisian firms specializing in bronzes and objets d'art.
