Borek šípek (1949–2016) – “wells” Large Blown Glass Vase – Driade Kosmo – H. 94 Cm

Spectacular single-flower vase made of clear blown glass, designed by the renowned Czech architect and designer Borek Šípek (1949–2016) and produced by the Italian company Driade, Driade Kosmo collection.

This elegant creation stands out for its particularly slender silhouette, combining a wide conical base with a long, twisted body that gradually flares out toward an asymmetrical opening.

The glasswork reveals a remarkable interplay of twists, ribs, and helical reliefs that capture and diffuse light, creating subtle effects of transparency and movement.

The composition rests on a transparent conical base, topped by a circular glass ring that ensures a harmonious transition to the central body. The latter features a particularly intricate spiral design, characteristic of Borek Šípek’s formal explorations.

The base bears the “driadekosmo” mark, corresponding to the collection of decorative creations by the Italian manufacturer Driade.

A leading figure in late 20th-century European design, Borek Šípek developed a unique artistic language, blending Baroque influences, organic forms, and artisanal glassmaking expertise.
