Rare 19th century virtue dagger, probably of French manufacture. Originally used as a symbolic defensive object or clothing accessory, it embodies the chivalric and moral ideal of purity and self-control.
Description:
The triangular blade is made of polished steel, with a diamond-shaped section, well balanced and tapered. The straight metal guard protects a finely turned black horn handle, mounted with metal rivets and finished with bone or ivory trim. It comes with its original brown leather scabbard, reinforced with a brass tip.
