Oval-shaped reliquary ring in 14k gold (585e) under glass, decorated with Christ on the cross on a fabric background.

Description

Rare antique devotional ring, gold tested, decorated with a miniature crucifix under glass, mounted on a light textile background. The golden Christ on the cross, accompanied by the INRI titulus, is carefully worked in relief in an oval setting in the style of a reliquary medallion.

The reverse is smooth, well finished, and the ring band shows a beautiful old patina.
The jewel has been tested with a touchstone and reacts positively to gold (estimated quality 14 carats).

Gross weight 5.80g.
Ring size: 56.

Condition:

Very good general condition; minimal wear, glass intact

This is most likely a piety ring, worn by a clergyman or a consecrated person in the 18th century.
