Gold And Mauve Brocaded Grenadine Silk Fichu Shawl - France Circa 1860
Circa 1860 France Square shawl fichu in brocaded Grenadine silk in yellow gold and mauve, probably made in Lyon or Saint-Etienne during the Second French Empire. Black silk woven with double twists (which defines Grenadine silk). Decorated with a floral border on a black background, and center with a scattering of florets. Fringes on all four sides. Small holes scattered here and there, which do not compromise the stability of this shawl (see the last photos). Average condition. Price in relation. Dimensions: 116 cm x 116 cm
