Mid-19ᵉ Century French Umbrella, Circa 1860
Charming mid-19ᵉ century umbrella, whose silk canvas has been replaced while retaining the original bangs. It is therefore in perfect condition and use is quite possible today.
Pretty handle in precious speckled woodwood finished with a gilded metal pastille. Wooden needles.
The parasol features two ingenious systems typical of the period:
- An upper metal ring for tilting the canvas when open
- A central ring for folding the parasol in half, for easy storage or access to a carriage
It measures 25,98 inches long when closed and approximately 17,32 inches in diameter when open.
