Nielloed Silver Perfume Bottle, 19th Century

A rare silver niello perfume bottle. Cylindrical in shape, it is richly decorated with a bird, flowers, and foliage. It opens with a hinged lid and has an internal glass stopper. It measures 2,95 inches high and 0,86 inches in diameter. It is in perfect condition. France, dating from the late 19th century.
Note: Niello is a black mixture of copper, silver, and lead sulfides, used as inlay on engraved or etched metal, usually silver.
