Covered with a printed terrestrial map, the globe is decorated with a graduated brass meridian circle and a horizontal median steel circle.
- The map is signed "Globe classique / Nouvelle édition / par/ CH. DIEN / argent collé/ PARIS / F.le BERTAUX EDITEUR / 25, Rue Serpente, PARIS"
- The globe is supported by a metal arch extended by a brass and wood base, turned in a concave shape, blackened.

*Charles Dien Père worked as an engraver for the Delamarche family around 1819. His son, Charles Dien (1809-1870), astronomer and cosmographer, was the author of several planetaria, terrestrial and celestial globes, and in particular this one. He published several atlases on astronomical phenomena and in 1833 a Description and usage of the celestial globe. Dien fils, made globes mainly between 1840 and 1850.
