Wolf Hunting flag

Object description :

" Wolf Hunting "
It is a rare spear for wolf hunting, of clearly superior quality to the rare other specimens encountered.
The iron has 2 teeth, like all the forks made for wolf hunting.
They are of square section, slightly divergent, this characteristic seems to disappear later : during the XVIIth century usually the teeth become strictly parallel. One of the teeth is slightly longer than the other, and after careful examination of the metal and the patina, it appears to be original and not the result of accidental shortening.
The very clear flattened ball at the level of the socketof the weapon is characteristic of a polearm from the last quarter of the XVIth century.
Length of the iron= 31 cm
The stock is of course a later wooden replacement, as almost always.
This item should find its natural place in a collection on the theme of hunting or Renaissance
