Snuffbox In Niellé Silver, Charles X Period.
This very pretty snuffbox is in niello silver. The decoration is made up, on all sides as well as on the back, of lattice patterns inside which is a stylized flowerette, a small rectangular reserve is located in the center of the cover in order to receive the initials of its owner. Each edge of the box is bordered by a net niello between two silver threads. The interior is in vermeil but shows signs of wear at the bottom. The check mark, a Michelangelo's head affixed to the rim of the lid, covers the period from 1819 to 1838. Charles X period. Dimensions: length 8 cm x width 3 cm x height 2 cm. Weight 69 grams.
