"Two-part Walnut Buffet, 18th Century."
This Louis XV style buffet is made of solid walnut. The lower section opens with two doors, while the upper, recessed section also opens with two doors. The entire piece is generously molded and shaped. The doors are mounted in wide frames, and their panels feature double bands, one of which is adorned with a small cyma molding. The upper and lower rails are carved with stylized vases and small flowers. In excellent condition, this piece retains its cornice and front feet; the two rear feet have been repaired with a small repair. The honey-colored walnut has a beautiful blond patina. It dates from the second half of the 18th century. Its dimensions are reasonable for a two-part Louis XV buffet: 244 cm high, 67 cm deep, and 166 cm wide.
