"Earthenware Plate, 18th Century. "

This earthenware plate features a design inspired by the plates of the East India Company. In the center is a delicately painted multicolored branched bird with a tuft, a wide ruff, a long pointed beak, and a round eye outlined in blue. The rim is highlighted with a purple border, and the rim of the basin is decorated with a pattern of fine purple hatching alternating with small stylized gold-colored fleur-de-lis. The design of this plate, of high quality, evokes the designs painted on the porcelain of the great 18th-century factories. Although very interesting, it did not allow us to precisely attribute this plate to one production center or another. A chip clearly visible in the photos should be noted on the rim, as well as one or two chips. 18th-century period. Diameter 23 cm
