Pewter Bottle With Engravings By Jacques Callot, Dated 1624

A rare bell-shaped pewter bottle, likely used for drinking spirits, featuring two engravings by Jacques Callot from a series of twelve etchings and titled "The Nobility of Lorraine" because it depicts the customs of the gentlemen and ladies of Lorraine in 1623, while our bottle is dated 1624.

It is therefore a very unusual and rare object that attests to the widespread use of the Lorraine master’s prints on everyday objects during that period.

The bottle is also monogrammed “J.C.” in honor of the designer of this model; on one side of the bottle, the date is engraved, and on the other, the monogram “F.S.”—perhaps indicating the owner’s name.

The object is in good overall condition and has its original stopper; the threading is in excellent condition.

On the base are two stamps: one of St. Michael the Archangel, typical of antique Feltre ware from the 17th century, and another, more recent mark.

The item measures 22 cm in height, 11 cm in width, and 5 cm in depth.
