16th Century Penknife, Tiny, Openwork Iron, Engraved And Turned Bone
Amazing little object, (perhaps ritual), which made me search a lot in documentation, finally found in D’Allemagne collection, see attached photo.
We find dimensions, turned brass with beads and inlaid bone rings, and sharp blade, from beaten iron, with 4 openwork and a fine dotted engraving,.
Good condition, material is beautiful, shape too.
Dimensions: 8cm x 1.2cm. featherweight: 7gr.
A knife with similar blade, but larger, is in a medical museum, as acircumcision knife.... curious... (photo)
