Rafraichissoir Table, Canabas Model.

A superb Transition-style refreshment table in mahogany and mahogany veneer, with a recessed white marble top; the tabletop features two silver-plated ice buckets, and the base opens via a drawer, resting on four curved legs joined by two crossbars and finished with casters.

A beautifully crafted piece, based on the famous Canabas model (Joseph Gegenbach, known as Canabas, 1715–1797).

The Louvre Museum holds a similar pair in its collections, as does the Nissim de Camondo Museum (illustrated in “Musée Nissim de Camondo,” 1973, no. 271, p. 65).

In very good condition.
High-quality craftsmanship from the late 19th to early 20th century.
