Antique 18-karat Gold Brooch-pendant With Diamond & Fine Pearls – 19th Century
Antique 18-karat gold brooch-pendant with gemstones and fine pearls – 19th century
Elegant antique brooch-pendant in 18-karat yellow gold (750), dating from the second half of the 19th century, featuring a rich floral and foliage motif inspired by the Napoleon III style.
Description
With its undulating oval shape, this piece stands out for its openwork setting composed of scrolls, finely chased foliage, and small flowers, surrounding a central medallion with a beaded border.
In the center, a raised flower is adorned with an antique-cut stone set in a claw setting, surrounded by petals crafted from gold. The composition is enhanced by two rows of small white pearls arranged symmetrically between foliage scrolls.
A small, movable pearl pendant adorns the lower part of the piece.
The exceptionally meticulous goldsmithing, combining polished surfaces, matte elements, and finely engraved details, reflects the taste for naturalistic jewelry of the second half of the 19th century.
The reverse features a brooch pin as well as a loop, allowing this piece to be worn as a pendant.
Two hallmarks are visible on the reverse.
