Description
This print belongs to the portfolio “The Ammonite's Dream”, published in 1975, which includes a series of works in which Alechinsky deploys his characteristic graphic language, between gestural abstraction, writing and symbolic figuration.
The Centre Pompidou holds a proof of this same lithograph (inv. AM 1976-170 (10)), donated by the artist in 1976.
A rare feature: the copy presented here includes, in addition to the lithographed motif in green and black, inscriptions handwritten notes integrated by the artist himself, such as "the moon", "whistling halo", "I am a whole cemetery at war", reinforcing the poetic and scriptural dimension typical of his work.
Modern frame (gold frame with black threads and white mat).
