Art Deco Fan Vase By Franz Welz – Speckled Bohemian Glass – Circa 1930
Welcome to my shop. I am pleased to offer you this stunning Art Deco vase, attributed to the Bohemian glass manufacturer Franz Welz.
This hand-crafted vase features a particularly sculptural form, with a wide, double-fan-shaped opening, a slender stem, and a circular base. The strongly undulating upper rim is accented by a dark blue, almost black, applied glass border.
The opaque white glass interior is surrounded by an outer layer of intense yellow. Red, yellow, and dark glass filaments extend from the base and run up the stem, creating a particularly dynamic speckled pattern. The combination of vibrant colors and the elegant form are characteristic of Bohemian Art Deco glass produced during the interwar period.
Origin: Bohemia, Czechoslovakia
Manufacturer: attributed to Franz Welz
Period: circa 1925–1935
Material: hand-crafted art glass
Height: 19.4 cm
Maximum width: 20 cm

The small air bubbles and irregularities visible in the glass are inherent to its original handcrafted production. Please examine the photographs carefully; they are an integral part of the description. This is, of course, a vintage item and not a new production.
A colorful and particularly decorative collector’s item for fans of Franz Welz, Bohemian glass, and Art Deco design.
