Black Vase With 24 Fish, Sabino Paris 1878-1961 Art Deco 1930 Era Daum, Lalique, d'Avesn
Artist: Marius-ernest Sabino
Art Deco vase with 24 fish, circa 1925-1929, designed by master glassmaker Marius-Ernest Sabino. Elongated and shell-shaped, it is made of molded and pressed black glass. The decoration, playing on the contrast between glossy and satiny matte finishes, features three circles of tropical batfish in high relief against an undulating background, accentuated towards the base and the neck by a geometric foot and rim. The slightly bluish patina creates a beautiful effect, diffusing light and enhancing the decoration through its perspective. This vase is listed in the Sabino catalogue. Numeroted and Signature "Sabino FRANCE" engraved under bases
