Liège Pocket Percussion Pistol, Folding Trigger, Circa 1840–1855
An elegant and authentic pocket percussion pistol manufactured in Liège around 1840–1855.
This high-quality civilian pistol features an octagonal barrel, a folding trigger, and a finely engraved lock plate.
It bears the ELG proof mark of Liège as well as several original hallmarks, including the control letter R and a crowned AF hallmark stamped on the frame, generally attributed to Auguste Francotte, one of the most famous 19th-century gunsmiths from Liège.
With a total length of only 15 cm, this model was designed to be carried discreetly in a pocket or vest for personal defense. The folding trigger is a sought-after feature of high-quality pocket pistols from this era.
The walnut grip has retained its beautiful original patina. The gun is in excellent condition, with fine, clearly visible engravings and no restoration.
A beautiful collector’s item that perfectly illustrates the craftsmanship of 19th-century Liège gunsmiths.
