A refined and graceful collector’s sculpture in fine Meissen hard-paste porcelain, depicting a female figure from the world of classical theater and the Commedia dell’Arte (referring to the iconography of Colombina or an allegory of comedy/theater).
The figure is portrayed in an elegant, supple, and expressive pose atop a finely modeled natural rock base.
With her left hand, she gracefully lifts a black mask (lutta/moretta), a typical attribute of 18th-century theater and carnival.
She wears a refined gown that leaves one shoulder bare and features a full, flowing skirt painted with delicate bouquets of polychrome flowers, executed—like the details of her face—with a brush and the utmost precision typical of miniature painting.
Particularly noteworthy is the detail of the “Roman-style” sandals with pink lacing intertwined around the ankles, as well as the sculptural care with which the facial features and styled hair are rendered.
