Description

Reliquary in the shape of an oval medallion, containing a relic of the Holy Cross (Ex Ligno Sanctissimae Crucis D.N.J.C.), displayed under beveled glass

The reverse side retains its intact red wax seal, pierced by the original silk threads.
The reliquary has never been opened since its authentication.

The reliquary is accompanied by its authentic original certificate, issued in Mechelen in June 1878 under the authority of Victor-Auguste-Isidore Dechamps (1810–1883), cardinal and archbishop of Mechelen, Primate of Belgium.

An item of great historical and devotional value, preserved with its certificate of origin—a document particularly sought after by collectors of religious art.

Condition:

Very good condition. Intact episcopal seal; authentic original included.
