A beautiful dress worn by a craftswoman or a woman from Bastide, made of Indian calico with geometric motifs on an aubergine-brown background, dating from the Second Empire. Full-length dress with long sleeves and black glass buttons at the cuffs, with matching detailing on the crew-neck bodice. Front closure featuring an inner belt, drawstring, and hook-and-eye fastening. The waist is skillfully constructed with organ-pipe or cannon pleats, flaring out into a full-skirted skirt. The bodice is lined with blue-checked cotton household linen. Original piece with no flaws or later alterations. The Indian print has retained its original finish! No flaws. Exceptional condition in terms of color and preservation.
