Stylish Silver Lamé Dress In The Style Of Boué Soeurs – France, Art Deco Period, Circa 1925
Artist: Boué Soeur
Circa 1925
France
Art Deco-style dress in silver-lamé lace, circa 1825. Wide bands of silver-lamé lace, made on a bobbin, form the straps and the flared, hoop-shaped skirt. A sleeveless dress worn without a slip (which likely bore a fashion designer’s label), featuring a deep, pointed neckline accented by a scalloped border embroidered with polychrome glass beads in shades of pink, sky blue, cream, and straw yellow. Closes in the back with snap buttons. This dress is inspired by Boué Soeurs or Jeanne Lanvin’s designs from the same period. No flaws to note; the silver threads have retained their sheen. Overall good condition in terms of color and preservation. The cream-colored slip shown in the photos is not included in this sale.
Dimensions: Equivalent to French sizes 36 and 38. Shoulders 41 cm, waist 73 cm, bust 85 cm, length 105 cm.
