Artist: G.desprez 191 Rue Saint Honoré à Paris
A significant reptile-skin (perhaps Lizard) wallet with a moiré silk lining, dating from the 1920s and signed by G. Desprez, 191 Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris, who was a luxury leather goods maker in Paris; The Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York has a bag from the same period on display.
I am including a retractable platinum comb with this bag.
Both this bag and the comb come from a Breton estate that was formerly located in Paris; they were accompanied by an Art Deco cigarette holder made of agate and solid gold, this bag and the comb bear labels indicating their provenance: Coco Chanel*, Rue Cambon, Paris 1st arrondissement (the cigarette holder is sold separately in another listing); unfortunately, neither the heirs nor I have any additional information to establish a connection with the famous fashion designer. (See last photo).
