Rare Rooster-shaped Radiator Cap Mascot For Niclausse-brand Automobiles
Artist: établissements Niclausse 1904-1914
A bronze rooster perched on a car wheel, rendered in a naturalistic and realistic style reminiscent of the great animal sculptors of the late 19th century, such as Auguste Cain or Prosper Lecourtier, for example.
Our specimen is believed to have been produced by the Niclausse company, a boiler manufacturer that built a few automobiles between 1904 and 1914 and chose this rooster as its radiator mascot.
A similar model appears in the book *La folie des bouchons de radiateurs* by Dominique Pascal, published by Flammarion, on page 260.
In very good condition, with fine chiseling and a superb patina.
Shipping available via Chronopost for:
France: €30
Europe: €60
Other countries: €90
